We had the pleasure of having Lisa sit down with us this week. Lisa has 17 years with Wacker. After pursuing a chemistry degree, Lisa started with Wacker in the lab developing customer solutions. She was able to make a drastic switch from the lab through pursuit of a Masters degree, ultimately landing her a role on the business support side of inside sales at Wacker. Today, Lisa represents Wacker as one of their few Business Transformation Specialists. We talked about the people skills required to “educate in a way that doesn’t overwhelm or frustrate” in her incredibly unique role. Lisa shared with us the intricacies of training across the globe and how she alters her trainings to be effective across cultures.

We talked about females in leadership roles becoming more empowered and encouraged to create opportunities for other women to succeed in the workplace and the momentum that comes with these women and their growing presence. Lisa also made us aware o the unique and dynamic diversity and inclusion initiatives Wacker has in place. In closing off our interview, Lisa’s advice to us was to keep pushing and being a team player, recognizing that doing the best that you can in your role can make you stand out. She offered us a favorite quote of hers from Mother Teresa; “I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples,” ultimately encouraging us to stay positive and share that positivity with others.
